Join Now →How to Contribute
Contributions of all kinds are welcome — code, documentation, testing, design, and community support.
1. Find an Issue
Browse issues labelled good first issue or help wanted on any EmbeddedOS repository. These are curated for new contributors.
2. Fork & Branch
Fork the repository, create a feature branch from main, and make your changes. Keep commits atomic and write clear commit messages.
3. Write Tests
All code contributions must include unit tests. Use the existing test patterns in tests/ and ensure ebuild test passes before submitting.
4. Open a Pull Request
Open a PR against main with a clear description of the change and a link to the related issue. The CI pipeline runs automatically.
5. Code Review
A maintainer will review your PR within 5 business days. Address feedback promptly and keep the PR focused on a single concern.
6. Merge & Credit
Once approved, your PR is merged and your name appears in the release notes and contributor list. Thank you for making EmbeddedOS better!
